The Mexican Association of Pediatrics A.C, AMP, affiliated with the International Pediatric Association IPA, with national and international representation was, founded from the Mexican Society of Pediatrics on June 29, 1976, this society being the oldest in Latin America.
Made up of 16 pediatric schools, societies and associations in Mexico City and in the Interior of the Mexican Republic, including the main Resident Training Hospitals in the country (INP, HIM, IMSS, ISSSTE, HGM, PEMEX, HIP and H Español).
The AMP carries out the following academic activities:
Monthly virtual symposiums, academic workshops, specialized courses and the National Congress of Pediatrics, the most relevant annual event, with a high academic level, with the participation of national and international professors, in pediatrics and various subspecialties, has in-person attendance of more than 6,000 doctors and 5,000 virtually.
Likewise, we collaborate with international institutions such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Children's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, Philadelphia Children's Hospital and Miami Children's Hospital, San Juan de Dios Guatemala and Hospital Cardio Infantil de Bogotá Colombia, with educational lines such as Obesity, Smoking and Mental Health (suicide), Immunizations, Immigrant Children, among others.
AMP maintains joint activities and participation with national, public and private institutions such as: the Mexican Academy of Pediatrics, Ministry of Health (SS), CENSIA, Communication Council, on topics related to pediatrics: Training of pediatric residents and other subspecialties community outreach, legal and ethical aspects, continuing medical education for society and private doctors and the health sector.
Medical consensuses, the AMP carries out academic and research work, for the elaboration of consensuses and their publication, at this time consensuses are being worked on in matters of cardiology, neonatal sepsis, nutrition and obesity and child athletes.
Publications, the AMP carries out the work in terms of coordination and editing for the publications of clinical guides, through the “Mexican Pediatric Clinics”, Medical Bulletin of the Children's Hospital of Mexico, Mexican Journal of Pediatrics (SMP) and Acta Pediátrica of Mexico (INP).
